Default Merry Christmas on this lovely rainy night

I wish everyone a happy celebration with loved ones and lots of good food.

We are having prawns, salad and christmas pudding. I also made fruit mince pies for the first time ever and they are pretty yummy i must say. Dad's cooking the prawns but i guess i will end up making the salad.

There was a little while there when i thought about having the rooster for lunch (because he's such a damned noisy bugger) but when i looked into doing the deed, i found i didn't have the heart for it at this time after all. Besides i'd prefer to eat prawns.

We're having xmas dinner at the youngest daughter's place for the first time. Get to spoil the littlest grandson, then leave them to handle him after we leave
I think I might slip out in the morning and bandicoot a few nice baby spuds to make a potato salad. We've got a heap of cinnamon basil coming on, too. That'll go well in the salad, with a bit of coriander (gone to seed already, but I'll get some leaves off it).
Just got the wife a book of 1,000 Indian recipes, so I'd better check the turmeric, ginger & spice situation in the next few days.
Gotta be up early in the morning to ring the eldest daughter (saw her a few months ago for the first time in 30 years) over in NZ, and the next eldest daughter in NSW. Pity my two sons don't want to talk to me, but maybe they'll come around in the next few years.

Best wishes to all, and hope the new year proves to be whatever you want it to be. Remember, always keep smiling - it makes them wonder what you're up to!

Was it that bad Mike? We had a lot of wind and rain for a bit there too. I better check the news.
