Umm I'm sorry too, perhaps I need to learn to chill out abit more than I realised.
I thought you were being personal and unfortunately I react badly to people making assumtions about me based on fresh air.

It of course didnt help that I had written an earlier one and push the wrong button wipingthe lot so I had to re do the whole thing.

    A point of confusion.
If you dont wash, why do you make soap?
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it...

i wash, i use a bucket and a flannel and I use soap.. More often i heat my water. i do this daily.
We as a family heat a couple of pots of water each morning for face washes.
the first cab off the rank will use that water for arse wash and toilet flush.

    i wash!, i don't shower, i seldom bath, i swim in summer....

i wash my hair in beer.
ages ago i found 4 unopened cartons of beer at the dump.
the cartons were out of code by about 2 years.
the beer did not taste 'fresh' but the abundance of top quality hair wash and conditioner was grabbed and stashed....and has been used for hair since.
no, i dont't rinse,,,i like that smell of a pub in the morning.

    Default clean or green....

on my own again...and now i have merde under my fingers, and stink; reduced to quoting the stats from a rag as bad as the 'West Australian' ( which i wouldn't wipe my arse with).

    hello reactionaries,,,who's got a secret ?

it's cool, you enjoy the support of the mainstream,,,,
who have reasoned the 'handling' issue is best left 'unhandled'
    thus
    avoiding shit under the fingernails........

    further to this;

    the entire ' we are cleaner because we shower ' reasoning is as environmentally valid as say;
' we are cooler because we have the air con on '......

the environmentalist point is not of cleanliness; it is of consumption - in this instance 'water'.
everybody can not take daily showers, or we run out of water.
everybody can not use air conditioners because it too, is an unsustainable consumptive practise.
(things might change for the better,,,energy may become renewable and clean, drinking water may become plentiful)

if sustainability is our creed ( permaculture ),
and we are prepared to draw the proverbial 'line in the sand',,,
is it not incumbent upon us to be personally 'real' about it.....

if you measure the amount of water you consume, and then pretend that some reason exists, that forces you to make a survival decision and ration your consumption,,,is it not the shower that must go?

    ' i work so hard, i am entitled '?

i thought that 'we' here on this forum might at least be able to agree on the bogus-ness of that rational.

Red face 0.14g...the truth is out there...where to from here?

so how did they get this 0.14g stat...

    shall we explore that question?
( sorry, but amongst the many that shouted NO!,,,i thought i heard a little voice whisper yes )

Consider the source; not me the original article. It was a second or third page story in the West Australian some time in 2009....that is where I got it.
and I grabbed it and did a little dance....I had waited half my life for this!!

How many (hundreds) of times have i voiced the question....isn't it strange that we 'wash the dishes but don't wash...etc.'.......and had the party all suddenly get dam interested in 'pin the tail on the donkey'.

    Unanswered, the whisper grew louder.
and marginalised ' i kept my freckle clean '...........then one day...

the west australian prints this stat ......and i am blessed with an epiphany ' lord they know not what they do '

as a permaculture missionary i give this to the natives.

where upon i am renounced as a heretic, and digitally exiled in presumption of being dirty, smelly, smeared with shit and just too naf.

    marginanallised, (chortle)

ps on how they got that stat.... easy, by weighing underpants.

you are not going to ask where did they get....without first considering,,,who launched the enquiry which generated this stat....some Phd student with time on her hands probably....ask the 'west', surely some of Perth did.

    Ok so I'm chortling too.

I was wondering how big .14g is and how much of something.14glooks..a grain of sand size?

Measuring the undies..okay that will give a measure of something which I would have thought would include mineral deposits from sweat as well as shedded skin.

On the water front... just to be obnoxious and provide another launching pad for you.

Our water what I use right now comes out of a stream, I use it and some of it goes back to the stream via treatment system.
Now if I did not use that water it woukd be in the ocean in 2-3 days time .
Under ground water is a different matter because it is being used up at a faster rate than is being replaced.

    go digital guys,,,

I figured out how they got that stat.....the 0.14g
It was not by weighing underpants ( red herring ....to throw you off the scent ?)...

the truth is police forensics have; baseline data on the entire gammut of 'normal bodily detritus,,,
from how much blood in heart and wax in ears to how much shit on the light side of the 'A'.

they need this base datum to extrapolate a plausible rational from historic evidence.
i.e. deducting the anticipated 0.14g from the measured actual could reveal such important forensics as the victim was scared, very scared.

i am tempted to play with scenarios here, but having shone my light on the sordid and sultry world of police forensics....we again have a plausible source for this statistic.

'way better than good morning sir, madam we are with the Australian Bureau Of Statistics and today we're asking people if they wouldn't mind giving just a few moments to enable a quick arse swab'...

perhaps the police could be called upon to contribute data from say, roadside searches. License cheque and rear end swab. I can just see the signs now; "Local Police are Targeting Arse"
