    hey all,
im in a different zone altogether, in the netherlands (europe), so wouldnt know which plants to use for your fence, although we had a hard time having the morning glory growin on a fence... we had a feeling it was caused by the wind just blowing through the fence...

we do have some other ideas about vertical gardening, specially for city dwellers with less space to garden, like on balconys... increasing earth/soil volume on small spaces. Like fixing a metal grid to the outside wall of yer house. the grid is held into place by a wooden frame over a heavy (but porous) fabric, which has about 15cm of earth between the fabric and the wall.

Just unveiled on the new Mint Hotel near the Tower of London is what is claimed to be the tallest living wall in Europe.

Designed and built by Frosts Landscape Construction, the green wall of flowering plants extends the full height of the hotel’s internal courtyard, 35m up to the 11thfloor. The wall provides a backdrop viewed through a glass roof in the hotel reception area, and is the view from each of the hotel bedrooms facing the courtyard.

The planting also wraps around the outside of the building extending upwards from the 9thstorey and connects with a large green roof area on top of the hotel.

A "painting" of growing plants on a wall, nearing completion, outside of the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square London. As it grows and flowers over the coming weeks it will apparently resemble Van Gogh's A Wheatfield With Cypresses
