shield wall protection for stove and flue
hi all!
i'm in the midst of installing a wood burning stove in my highly combustile house...(standard wood frame/sheetrock construction).
my flue goes through a combustible (sheetrock a.k.a plaster) ceiling.
i'm planning a 4 inch clearance hole around it. Is that enough?
i'm using American stove installation codes as a refferance on an unlisted radiating model. I'm adhering to all of their ultra strict clearances, except that i'm doubtfull about the ceiling conection.
the flue connects with the ceiling at a height of 2.5 meters from the end of my (very short) stove pipe (connector).
what are the temperatures up there?
anyone with similar experiences?
thanx
