    Default coincidence?

    Hi Tezza,

I've read all of the Celestine books, but it was quite some time ago. They were great and caused some changes in my perspective. Like barely run, I would have to dig them out for a re-read to be conversant, but a lot of the first book "stuck".

Permaculture is a gestalt ... a study of the whole. Not just how to produce more and better food, but how that food production affects and is affected by the surrounding environment.

Once in an international airport an English girl I had known for 30 seconds tried to give me a copy, telling me that it would change my life in a good way and all that. I actually had a very good book with me that I was halfway through, and had absolutely no room left in my luggage or carryons to take it, so I told her thanks, but no thanks. At first she couldn't believe that I wouldn't take it, and then she got really offended! Like I was intentionally thwarting her attempt to spread peace and light in the universe. I only have a vague notion of what that book is about, but my general impression is that it is a new agey sort of self help book, (admittedly this is based on almost complete ignorance other than the worrisome title) so I found her attitude sort a bit ironic. I suppose I should have taken it if only to make her happy...
So, can someone give me a synopsis? What have I been missing out on?

Now this is a stretch......it was a few years ago I read it.
Nope...tried.... can't do the book justice without a quick re-read and it's packed.
The book is about ethical behaviour....some on the effects of karma and about things happening for a reason...etc
It's a great read as an adventure type story and for those who are open to the effects of spirit, the universe or your personal god...there is a very strong message on how to live your life.
    can someone do better!!!!!

Nope wrong...it doesn't tell you how to live....doesn't lay down rules...just gives a gentle nudge towards living with the values most on this site espouse. Lots of fun and adventure and escapism thrown in for good measure.

    Synchonicity !

things happen for a reason and when you put your intent out into the universe you will be attracted to situations/people/scenarios that will help you evolve on your path

their is also a scene in the book where monks meditate on their food and it energises that minerals

so yeh, not for the rational scientific minded

    a good read though...

its the golden age ( )

    G'day Tezza, All

Yeah, I read The CP many years ago, and have since read much more on the subject. Five years ago I started to practice a lot of what I was reading - particularly with regards to contemplation and meditation on the self according to Tibetan Dharma . The results have been astounding - not only for me, but for many who know (and have regular contact with) me.

I don't question it anymore - synchronicty, that is. It just is. I do believe in Karma, and I do believe that if one studies one's own mind enough one will eventually be able to realise that there are many answers contained within one's own self - maybe all of the answers to all of one's questions?

Life is grand! Sure, it continues to throw heaps of poo on my path, but at least now I can understand that it is all part of the journey (and it all makes great compost!).

May you all experience much joy in your own journey.

    Peace and love, Mark.
