Where do you live? It will influence your chickens living conditions.
Are you using hothouse as the same name for a greenhouse- a fully enclosed propagation area.
It gets really hot in a hothouse during summer, so it would probably be best to have the chooks next to it, so in winter there is heat transferred from the hot house to the chooks. In Perth the problem is more keeping them cool in summer.
Or there is also the greenhouse with chickens in it to help keep the greenhouse warm. This would be a cooler climate thing than the first. The chooks could spend more time inside the hot/green house.
