Default SHOCK! Howard advocates sane water use!

I read the "Australian" google news every now and then, and was shocked and delighted tonight to read a Daily Telegraph article on John Howards new attitude to water. He is apparently telling Aussies that they need to recycle water and stop storm water from flowing out to the ocean!
Now I have railed against this bloke since I was about 10 years old, but I have to give credit where credit is due.

Go to http://www.theaustralian.news.com (18/07/06) and have a look at the article where honest John talks about how Australia has a "Massive opportunity" of becoming an energy superpower. We can supply the world with Gas and Coal and Uranium and oh yeah solar. The man will save the planet yet.

LMAO...yep, polling well from Melbourne to Maui...

In typical Howard style, he gets one thing half right and totally stuffs another half dozen simultaneously...his energy policy and all in it is nothing short of a disgrace...what's worse, he knows it and is taking the 'economic disaster if we do anything else' back alley.

Even with his glasses on he has long term vision inferior to that of an earth worm.

Tezza, they don't believe him, except unfortunately on interest rates, which is really the only thing that matters to most over-indebted Aussies now. Add that to the 'need to feel safe' (see http://www.smh.com.au/text/articles/...175717906.html ) mentality that he feeds so effectively and they just keep on voting him back in. Unfortunately my view of my fellow Australians has taken a huge battering these last few years. They are happy to be lied to as long as they feel comfortable.
