Cow horns appear almost impossible to come by in any quantity. I'll try to aquire some before next autumn.
For those with chicken tractors, how important is the weight. I live and grow on a hillside so Linda Woodrow's poly pipe tractor makes sense but will it protect the birds from the cold weather. i have heaps of spare timber and tin but weight could become an issue. I designed a nice size tractor for around 8 birds but it would weigh around 55kg. Is that too much to drag around?

Weight is an issue only whenever you want to move it! How far south are you? Purple Pear has no troubles with his birds in the dome over winter in NSW.

I'm in Victoria near the mountains. It's cold and wet in winter.
Without a good structure I'm worried the weather will be to extreme
Frosts aren't uncommon and the occasional snow shower
