    Default Update on Rob

Last Thursday my dear friend Rob Windt had some CT scans to investigate ongoing health issues he's been struggling with. He was admitted to Latrobe Regional Hospital in Traralgon on Friday. The diagnosis is an aggressive cancer on his left lung & Crohn's disease.

Robs take on the situation was
"who woulda thunk it since I take such good care of myself."
    &
"lucky it's only on one side, I'm sure I can whistle with one lung."

Clearly, his sense of humour is still fine

Rob my dear friend, I hope all the nurses are pretty & the bedpans are warm. I hope the tea trolly never sells out of Playboy or HotRod Mags nor runs out of iced vo-vo's. And I hope the cleaning ladies don't start their engines until at least 7.30 am.
We will keep your spot warm here at the Permaculture Forum until you can get to a keyboard again
I wish you a restful convalescence & a speedy return to your usual wonderful self.

    double whammy!
He needs Crohn's fixed first before dietary, herbal or drug interventions help cancer

And more energy coming at you from across the big pond Rob!

I spoke to Rob tonight. He is to be allowed home for a few days before being re-admitted next week. He should have internet access by the weekend & will doubtless be pleased to be back in touch via the magic of the aether.

Thank you one and all for the kind words and thoughts.
It's good to be at home and to sleep well at will, I'm in no pain now that the chrones is being treated and am happy to leave it at that.
I have various tests and subsequent options to consider but have ruled out chemo and radio therapy, if the remaining lung cannot cope alone I will take the oncologists advice to "stock up on red wine and enjoy the sunsets"
Seems to be a much nicer option than dragging things out at the end of some tubes

    Yours in and at peace

Good luck Rob how about some research on Medline as well?
Cancer is a disease, not a sentence.
My feeling is if you can fix the Crohn's disease a lot of things might improve
Have you talked to an orthomolecular specialist or naturopath/herbalist yet?(pref a medically trained one)
Things not in the average oncologists book of tricks like exercise, mediation, diet may be helpful
