Smile Good day to u all

Hi from Neilsilverhair, I currently live near the NSW/Queensland border and for the last two years have been experiencing growing in the sub tropics. I have had a bit of trouble with vegies but the fruit situation is great.
I'm currently in the Philippines visiting my gf and am taking note of what is sold in the fresh food markets with a view to growing similar when I return. I would also like to check out Permaculture in the Philippines. My main interest is in keeping things sustainably simple so it can be easily replicated anywhere I go as I'm a bit of a wanderer so a handful of seeds and knowledge are my tools for sustainable survival.
If anyone has tips for growing vegies in the sub tropics I would love to hear from u

    G'day Neil

    Welcome to the PRI Forum.

Nice to have you on board. I'm sure your connection with the Philippines will provide you with many great ideas that you can implement on your own home environment.

Thanx for your response Markos, I did go to a permaculture project in the Philippines at Cabiokid and it was very informative. I'm hoping to go back in November to do the PDC course they are offering. I have on a personal level been involved in sustainable living for many years now ranging from living on the canal system in England to a cooperative in Victoria (Sunrise farm) and in fact my son was born in the very house which I helped to build that the Woof Organization is now being run from. Next door is a place called Ontos which has experimented with various agricultural styles over the years. I have a specific interest in what has been called 'Stone age Agriculture' and a woman called Alanna Moore has been greatly involved with this approach. I am fundamentally a practical person but have a strong interest in the historical development of 'agriculture/food acquisition' and it's sociological context. All the best....neil
