Actually, the General Strike is supposed to be WORLD WIDE according to a lot of people on Facebook and other social media sites. I personally do not understand why we need a world wide general strike. I like my new working conditions!

I guess people who think we need one can participate and those who don't, can do whatever they would be doing anyway.

I'm a civil servant, I'm not allowed to strike. We have to be call in sick instead. So it kind of defeats the purpose of a strike, since if you let them know why you're 'sick', then you're striking and that's against the rules. Though I don't quite understand why anyone would strike when they are easily replaced because so many people need jobs.

A world-wide "sick out" might send the message that people aren't happy with corporations running the world.

Civil Servents strike all the time... "SICK OUT!! SICK OUT!!" Strikes are because someone isn't playing by the rules and then people must stick together to get what is "right" accomplished. If people don't stand up for anything, they fall for everything, sad but true, especially in America right now.

Nobody really cares, as far as I can tell. Most people are fine with the way things are, or it is too much trouble to try something different.

Only ridicule for the general strike idea.

    I blame cognitive dissidence.
