Can anyone recommend me a mobile phone[/URL removed m]?
My contract is up in a month and I'd like to hear people's recommendations, especially anything other than the iPhone...

Prepaid.
I just got a cheap vodaphone, no camara, nothing fancy-got a cool flashlight at the end of it so I can see to open the door which is handy.
I dont use mine to call out on so there is no point in having a contracted phone:its mainly so the kids can get hold of me if they Have to,emergencies, txts or work incoming calls.
Cant remember the last time I topped it up
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it...

How about some spam to go with that corn? oh I see we already have some.
I like to get onto gumtree.com.au and pick up an old phone either free or cheap, then just use a pre-paid sim. This is only good though if you can train yourself not to use the phone to make calls out, but just to do a bit of texting and receiving calls. Pre-paid calls are very expensive.

Make sure it can be recharged by nature... not sure if it is Bull apples but if a potato clock works, why not this....
Now, you do not require any mobile charger... to charge your mobiles. Only there is need to use green leaf of peepal(Ficus religiosa) tree and after some time your mobile will get charged.
No soon the... people came to learn this development, they tested it and found encouraging results. If your mobile has been discharged and you are inside a jungle then you need not to use any charger. You Should pluck two peepal(Ficus religiosa) leaves and your work would be done.
It is very good idea and easy to charge your mobile. You would have to open your mobile battery and connect it with peepal leaf. After that without shaking mobile set you should set the battery in your mobile set. After some time your mobile would be charged.
Though it is unbelievable but as soon as the residents of Chitrakoot,Nepal. came to know about the discovery they could not believe the news. But when they saw it practically then the incident proved true.
Now hundreds of mobile holders are using this technique and charging their mobiles.
Whereas according to the botanists, it is just changing mutual energy into electrical energy power can be saved in battery. Similarly, it is also possible. They said that it is the subject of research.
Step by Step guide to charge your mobile battery using peepal leaf:-
1- Open your mobile cover
2- Take out your battery
3- Take two to three fresh leaves of peepal/pipal/ashwattha tree
4- Touch the stub of these leaves on your mobile battery terminal for a minute
5- Clean the mobile battery terminal with the soft cloth
6- Put your battery again in your mobile and switch it on
7- Now you can see the result
8- If required repeat the process with fresh leaves.

Methinks some critical thinking should be applied there Pak ;-)
Someone also said you can't generate electricity from a running tap of water, and I can show you how you can. I am not 100% sure either way if it is BS. Lots of stuff in life comes across this way like the free transmission of electricity without wires. Tesla did it, and then I heard nothing about it till I saw it on a TEDs discussion done by MIT students.

If we were to apply critical thinking, we would first look at the laws of physics and how electricity works and then consider whether a couple of leaves are capable or recharging a battery. What is the mechanism by which that could happen?
Applying that to a tap of running water is a no brainer, because we know that running water has energy that can be transferred (although I don't know what you are referring to specifically).
A friend is experimenting with this at the moment
Sounds loony to me, but he seem convinced and has just attracted further investment funding for more experiments
