I recommend Google, Gaia's Garden, and Permaculture Designer's Manual, and lastly, Edible Forest Garden Volume 1 & 2. However, be careful mentioning anything from Edible Forest Gardens 1 & 2 on other Permaculture sites, some places might not like the information since it holds a lot of truth in the first few chapters.

Why not google? Surely, if you know the plant you are going to use, the first page of results in Google will have a mention of it.

Widths may be a problem but width is often dependent on pruning and placement as well.

Daley's has info on fruits, this site has warm climate: http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/morton/index.html
