Default Bee depopulation caused by Monsanto

Ok Pak, I'm sure this is gonna blow you up so please drink a tea and try to relax. Found this on a "semi" reliable news source ABC News so don't hate.

What was killing all those honeybees in recent years? New research shows a link between an increase in the death of bees and insecticides, specifically the chemicals used to coat corn seeds.
The study, titled “Assessment of the Environmental Exposure of Honeybees to Particulate Matter Containing Neonicotinoid Insecticides Coming from Corn Coated Seeds,” was published in the American Chemical Society’s Environmental Science & Technology journal, and provides insight into colony collapse disorder.
Colony collapse disorder, or the mass die-off of honeybees, has stumped researchers up to now. This new research may provide information that could lead to even more answers.
According to the new study, neonicotinoid insecticides “are among the most widely used in the world, popular because they kill insects by paralyzing nerves but have lower toxicity for other animals.”
Beekeepers immediately observed an increase in die-offs right around the time of corn planting using this particular kind of insecticide.
Pneumatic drilling machines suck the seeds in and spray them with the insecticide to create a coating before they are planted in the ground. Researchers suspected the mass die-offs could have been caused by the particles of insecticide that were released into the air by the machines when the chemicals are sprayed.
The researchers tested several methods to make the drilling machines safer for bees. However, they found that all variations that used the neonicotinoid insecticides continued to cause mass die-offs of bees.
Honeybees are critical for pollinating food crops. Scientists say the disruption of pollination could dramatically affect entire ecosystems. In addition, as the researchers wrote in the study, “In view of the currently increasing crop production, and also of corn as a renewable energy source, the correct use of these insecticides within sustainable agriculture is a cause of concern.”

In the end, we all work for ourselves.

    No worries, I am 'medicating.'

I am deadly allergic to these lil guys, but I have learned over the years to walk calmly, and purposefully when near them. With that said, I cannot & perhaps do not want to understand why humans would do this to themselves and their fellow earth-beings.

I've had this problem since I was a child, much like the deceased Sioux shaman known as "Black Elk." He read the bible and converted to being a Christian since he thought everyone in Europe would strive and try to be as kind & forthright as Jesus. Then Buffalo Bill took him to Europe and he became depressed when he learned how his fellow 2leggeds really were across the great lake known as the Atlantic Ocean.

Kind of stretching the meanings of the words "renewable" and "sustainable."

It's insane to perpetuate a system of growing "food" (GMO corn) which kills the beings who are necessary to the growing of food (bees)......

specifically? The State of Florida alone has an air force bigger than the Australian National Air Force used to spray the state with pesticides so tourists don't get bitten by mosquitoes. Specific?
We and the bees live in a chemical soup with 3-6 new ( "new' as in, the planet has not seen them before) added daily

That's nothing new, neonicotinoids are already banned in France and some other countries. And it's not unreliable news :-)

In particular, researchers now say that they suspect a class of pesticides known neonicotinoids, including the widely-used insecticide imidacloprid, which are used primarily in corn fields. Introduced in the early 1990s, these insecticides have sharply increased in popularity and virtually all corn grown in the United States is treated with them.

The Harvard researchers concluded that these pesticides are likely to blame for colony collapse disorder.

And isn't it Bayer, not Monsanto responsible?
