HELL YEAH!!! NICE!! I made my wife come look at the pic!!

Co-inky-dental... My wife and I were discussing when I am making one of these... that's my one major problem with permaculture. SOOOO much fun stuff I want to build and experiment with, and so lil $$$$ to do it.

I know just what you mean, that's the only problem with us permies that I cab see, we never have enough $$$ to make and play with all the fun stuff. I like to think we never have enough $ because we have morals and we wont risk loosing our morals for a few pieces of rectangle shaped plastic(I.e. $$$).

P.S. I priced it all up and to make one Similar the one in the top picture will cost me about $750, Including the alternator I will be using it to power.

The only thing I need to add is that the guy that made the savonius rotor in the top picture should have used three 44 gallon drums and NOT 4! Because 4 can stall a lot easier than using 3, like this:

And he also should have overlapped the drums by about a third to maximize power output as well as preventing any small chance there still may be that it will stall, like this:

Most of the DIY's I have seen only call for 2 barrels, 3 just seems like fun. Personally, I don't see the need for a third on my property unless it was way up in the air.

Anyone else tinkering with VSAV versions? I have been tinkering in sketches with a Schauberger inspired one but again, too many projects.
