Hello, My family owns and operates a 100,000 acre working cattle and horse ranch in the Andes of Patagonia. We also run a small ecotourism program for adventurous riding guests, and a thriving volunteer program for travelers from around the world. Ranquilco is a blank canvas, with a lot of aspects already on place, and with tremendous potential if we can bring together
the right mix of elements.
Our first step is to find someone with the knowledge and drive to help
us bring about these changes. Ideally, we would like to find someone
looking to practice permaculture in a unique and amazing place, with
the additional potential of a long-term position and relationship with
the community and the land. We would provide housing, a horse, lot's
of helpers, and of course all materials and supplies needed.
Ultimately, we could also look at offering the facility as a place for
this person to run courses and workshops.
Our ranch, www.ranquilco.com is very remote and rugged. Horses are an integral part of life there, as well as self sufficiency, community, and a close relationship with the elements. There is no phone or internet, and it is accessible only by horse and a large tractor that brings in supplies. Our power is made by 2 small hydro turbines, we produce all our meat, some dairy and some produce. The long term plan is, through permaculture, to create a healthy and balanced system, and, in the process, to become a lot more self sufficient.
If something that sparks your interest, please send me a mail. tac.ranquilco@gmail.com
Thanks, T.A. Carrithers
