They were nominated last year too.
It amazes me that a local known plagarist author just received a Queens birthday honor and these didnt.
There is no justice in the world.

G'day Andrew
Did you ask either beforehand? If so, I would be very interested to learn of their response/s.
I have issues with the whole concept of 'Australia Day'. More specifically; the date, the history, the meaning, the fireworks, the very need for it at all... I guess you get my drift?
Too much flag-waving and nationalistic chest-beating, for my liking:
The Australia Day National Network is made up of hundreds of local councils and committees, eight state and territory Australia Day organisations and the National Australia Day Council. The network's mission is to inspire national pride and spirit to enrich the life of the nation.

In my view, there is a thin line between nationalism and fascism.
But, each to their own.
Congratulations to Holmgren and Mollison on your nomination/s.
What does it mean to be an 'Australian', anyway?
Cheerio, Marko.

The ability to look good in a pair of thongs. (Foot wear for those not familiar with the Aussie vernacular...)

If you visit NZ you'll be made aware of what an Australian is ;-p

It was a joke PP. You know, that old sibling rivalry. Kiwis will tell Aussies what they are ;-) (and vice versa when we're over there).

Agreed, but I am still a Romantic enough to think that the recognition is nice.
Don't you only need one thong to look good?

Who has need of two?

Hmm why is a pair of undies a pair but a thong is only one? I don't know any woman over the age of 21 who looks good in a thong. Unless you have beer goggles on....
