Dear perma lovers,

My name is Juan I am from Mexico city and one year ago I had the great opportunity to studied a PDC with Bill and Geoff in Melbourne. After almost one year of doing nothing about permaculture now is the time to start and I am thinking to start a project of permaculture and tourism. the idea is to fusion: education, tourism, spirituality and sustainability with an integral approach but I need your help and advise. Do you know any place with the same approach to permaculture? If there is a place doing the something similar I would appreciate if you send me the details or webpage in order to see what they are doing. Anyway, it is a pleasure to be part of one of the most interesting and vibrating communities in the world. I truly believe that if there is a system that can change the world is permaculture and I am very proud of being part of this revolution. All the best to all of you!

Regards

Juan

I have very little experience in all this but one thing i saw on this website very recently was the link from a show that had been shown on tv here. Its a gardening show and the short piece was about a permie garden in Cairns which is not far from where I live. I was impressed with the way the garden was used as a healing place for certain groups in the community - refugee kids and kids with problems. Take a look at the link by skimming through the page on the PRI home page. My eye was caught by the title of something like permaculture garden in cairns.

That would be Costa's Garden Odyssey on SBS. You should be able to view past episodes on line form the current season. Last season is now out as a DVD.

Thanks Mark. That was a tricky one ... join forum, make a post that's subsequently approved, THEN add spam link to signature in profile!!!

G'day Bill. Yep, clever people. I hope Sylvia comes back for a chat. Maybe we can 'convert' her from a Mobile Development person, to a permie person? But, I doubt it. India, as an 'emerging global economy', is going to take quite a bit of work to transition...

hey juan,
I have just completed the permaculture design certificate in Palestine and am returning to melbourne in two weeks. Would love to meet up and talk about ideas as the links you speak of are things I have thought of too. Perhaps we could meet at Ceres in Brunswick on a Saturday when they have the markets.
