Yes I have read a number from the Celestine series.
Very well written addictive reading. I would reccomend them to anyone. He gets a very strong message across where our world is heading on a spiritual level. Very inspiring for the future but certainly highlights the important work we all have to do. We in the permaculture world are certainly helping to build the critical mass, we just need to remember that compassion (especially to those who we could blame for the mess the earth is in) is a key to overcome the polarisation.

Hi Shane nice to meet ya.I notice ya been onboard for few years too.dont you ever post before?
How long ago u read the books, I read C/P in jan 1994,and was totally spun out about it.It was, as If i wrote it myself.I was So taken by the book I asked others, had they read it.And was totally surprised how many people I was finfing that had read the book as well.The insights and coincedences were comming thick and fast too.I even studyd it at T.A.F.E
of all things..I even joined (wait for it ) a book reader group.And we as a group did the whole lot of books with the Experiential guide.Ive even managed to get about 20 other Persons to Read the book also,something of a miracle its self.Have you been to Machu Pitchu yet?I could talk hours about it.
I gather by your queary post of later today that you are interested in Eco Villages as .Wow coincedence So am I, have been since i read the book,more intence since being a Permie in 1989,
Only difference is Id like to do it over here various reasons i suppose,
but land is so cheep over here, I just know,some how, Im in the right place.
Si Ive answered your eco post this way together.....You shoulda just said that when you answered my post. Did you know of the release of the movie this year, before Xmas I hope.. Have you read all the books?

:razz: I also have read most of The Celestine books...enjoyed them...thought provoking etc...Maybe we can start a forum just to discuss aspects of these and similar books...Has there been a movie made based on these books??? haven't heard anything about it here in Aus.

Nice to meet you too. Yes I have been on board for a few years but have found it hard to find the time to participate in many discussions in that time. I only read a few of the books about 3 years ago (Still more to read) and yes I was blown away by what I read and they have helped to change my life, I am certainly more focussed on my spirituality and feel that I have a purpose here in this life. I certainly never got into as seriously as you however would not hesitate for a minute recommending them to someone to read, and they have made an impact on my daily life.

Yes I feel I understood the books and as I was reading them I could feel the parallel between the story and my own personal healing.

What is the essential original point /argument in the the celestine philosophy. Someone recommended it to me once and when i finally picked it up i thought it boring and badly written. I have read a few other books on spirituality and philosophy and wonder if CP is just another version of the same thing.

Hi sun burn.... (Dont you ever get brownd off)? I dont think there is essential original thought/ let alone argument.. lol

I was given the book as a xmas pressie in 94 i think..... took few weeks to start reading it...after a couple of chapters,i had to put the book down...some how the book had come alive and it felt scarily like my own life,here were all these triggers of things in my mind...I carried on after a day or two,and got a few more chapters and ..... I closed the book and started looking everywhere over the book looking for my name..it was is if i was reading my life,in front of me...so many things just stood out, that only i could know... i was frantic cos i couldnt belive what i was reading.
i didnt touch it again for a few weeks as i thought i was going nuts lol... but i kept think bout this bloody book about me, i just had to forget it.. just read it and work it out at the end.....
I finished the rest of book that night, and my mind was really blown...
it was like the "lights been turned on".. I had all the answers at once...trouble was i hadnt asked any question yet lol.....

Anyway the book has been in my head ever since,the strange things still happen, I soon after become more interested and started meeting lots of people who had read the book,everyone was excited,everyone one felt the same...it was like a big thumbs up from life..... Lotsa others are feeling the same,they all reading the same book,it was a multi million book sellers and printed in other languages,.....

Its a bit like hearing,seeing,or talking to bill mollison 25 yrs ago..... the feelings are still there,deep down in our psyches or back brains lol.. The Truth deffinatly OUT THERE..

we also been talking about it in another post at this present time with a few others....... Ask your friends etc if they read it before its been around since 90s.... u maybe surprised by the answer..i personally got about 30 people/friends to read the book,with only about 3 people who never finished it.... and my friends aint book readers lol
