hello,
just a quick hello, what an interesting site, hope I get to learn how to use it, perhaps someone can tell me how to edit my profile to show "where on earth I am", (Tasmania - that's Australia for those who don't know) climate zone etc. We have just bought a little house on 3 acres and are the proud owners of two hens and a rooster who free range over said 3 acres. It is springtime here and we are trying to get the veggies in, have put in some no-dig spuds (a la Peter Cundall) they are just peeping through the straw 3 weeks later.
There is an awful lot of work to do here and we want to follow permaculture principles as closely as possible, so appreciate the valuable resources this site provides
Another newbie question: why do some of the icons flicker?
regards,
Hippydream

G'Day,

Welcome to the Forum,

Where abouts in our Fine State do you live ?

Follow this link to the User Control Panel (http://forums.permaculture.org.au/ucp.php), and select the "Profile" tab. There should be a box there to Edit your Location.

Which icons are flickering ?

Thanks for the welcome,
question 1: Lilydale
question 2: the ones on the left in the forums - maybe they aren't called icons?

G'day Hippy

Welcome to the Forum.

You live in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, and in the same neighbourhood as some of the most beautiful people, i.e. Peter Cundall. How is Peter (and the rest of the crew) holding up? Any local news on the issue that we may be missing out on by being stuck up here on the North Island?

Oh, and good luck with the spuds.

Cheerio, Marko.

Your just up the road from us... well a couple of hours anyway...

Some of the icons (with popular subjects) roll upwards resembling writing moving up a page. Thats probably all i can think of that would be flickering.

Yes, Marko, this is a beautiful place and we are very thankful to be living here.

We don't know any of the "beautiful people", wish we did, well, Peter Cundall anyway, he could probably tell me more about the garden in half an hour than others could do in a day. Wish that Gardening Australia competition was to win Peter for the day rather than one of the others, apart from his knowledge, he seems to understand the need for economy. Some of the products/methods they propound are pretty expensive!
Anyway, I'm on the site to learn, so here goes
all the best
