dates sultanas and coconut and chinese 5 spice combined in a bit of water over high heat till starts to burn then keep stirring untill it balls up. add water( I use boiled to speed things up) and porridge then cook till done.

That sounds interesting permasculptor. When you say coconut, what form are you talking about?

Shredded or desiccated both are good.

I like my porridge very plain. Just oats, water and salt. After i eat with cold milk, and honey or brown sugar. I don't like anything else added to my porridge. :D
