Southern Cross University worked for me. I got my BA and BAhons in the normal way at the University of Queensland, but did my Graduate Certificate in TESOL through SCU. The study material they send you is extensive - loads of readings, plus access to the library by mail, and of course programs like JStor for academic journals . You can contact your lecturers and tutors by email, and you never need to go there if you don't want to, or can't.
I would run a mile from most online degrees..
Reputable Australian Universities including Monash Uni and RMIT are part of "Open Universities"

Otherwise, many courses can be taken externally (via post, the internet etc) at universities including Uni of New South Wales.
Other uni's like James Cook and Souther Cross I don't have much knowledge about, but wouldn't necessarily rule them out either.

This thread is a complete scam. The question from stephen_jaw, and replies from jackms and morgandeo are just advanced spambots. Mods should delete.
Having said all that I found CSU to be very good for distance education.

Spambots or no, thanks ppp for the pointer in that direction. Got halfway through a distance ed. applied physics degree many years ago before I lost heart, always wondered if I should've finished that or something with compooters instead.
(goes off to look at available subjects)
