When I read a post I find it very useful to know what that person's conditions are. It is useful to me and ensures that people give the best advice they can.
I put my information (see the blue writing below) on to every post as my signature. it is automatic and just gives people a reference point.
For those that don't know how to add a signature, here is a quick course:
Click on Your Control Panel top left of board.
Click on Personal Info
Click on Edit Your Profile
Scroll down to your signature and add information you want in that box.
No one will ever have to guess or ask you again about your location or climate.

any websites that you would recommend that could assist in coming up with climate details.
i'm thinking of something snazzy like - you enter your suburb and it gives you your latitude and longtituide?????
or am i asking for too much

Jeff,
I had no problem following your instructions.
Added the appropriate climate info in the signature section
but [SOB] it didn't appear in my Lemon Meyer post!
(My disappointment was, to say the least, heart-wrenching)

Oh yes, and did I mention clicking on the Amend my Profile button at the bottom when you finished :D
Sorry Tricia, I'm a wealth of missinformation.

That's OK
On my second attempt I logicked it through and met with success - but didn't proof read the summer temp (which should be 17 - 30 degrees) so will go back and edit.
Thanks for the info Jeff - doubt I'd have discovered it in this lifetime.

WALLAH!
Mission edit accomplished.
Oh, I like this.
You may have created a signature monster because now I'm going to investigate every aspect of my control panel.
If I never contact this forum again you'll know I am lost somewhere in the great permaculture silt of the master control panel in cyberspace.

I found this site the other day. It gives some specific details, such as lat and long and altitude, on locations all over the world. http://www.fallingrain.com/world/AS/index.html
Handy when discussing the more technical side of one's patch of dirt.

Thats a brilliant site redorangenbrown..... :D :D
Is it possible to get contour maps from the local shire or do we have to draw them up ourselves?

If you search for 'topographical maps' you might find someone who sells them.

G'day All,
Firstly I found that Falling Rain site quite good and have been using it for some time: though the rainfall graph for this week here in Dong Xoai is hardly accurate.
Secondly the question of topo maps. Where are you? I maybe able to help you with some advice or data subject to you locale, as it is part of my job to look for this kind of thing.
