Tomorrow night will be out first night spent up at our place in the mountains. I'll be spending sunday and monday underneath the cabin drilling through 11 inch concrete pilings preparing to reinforce our foundation and Ryan and I will be staying sunday night up there. It's been nearly a year since we lived in our tent and it's going to be nice to set it up where nobody can come and tell us we are trespassing, or worrying about drunk kids giving us a hard time at 2 in the morning.
More importantly, it is the first of many steps towards getting intimate with the land. I can't want to see the sunrise, or to see what kinds of critters we have at night. It's pretty quiet during the day, all alligator lizards, newts, salamanders and snakes. Just hope we don't meet the bear yet.
So, tomorrow will be the digging and establishing of the outdoor hearth. I think I have a topic for the building section again...
