PHPBB spam - how to stop it?

What a great PHPBB. Fantastic topic and also NO SPAM. Is there someone in charge of blocking spammers that could advise me of how to keep spam off my board?

hi -

i wrote a php script that shows me the last 100 registrations with email addresses and websites..

it colors the rows differently depending on who's successfully activated their account and show's the # of posts of a member to.

the bottom line is that it's easy to go to that page once a day to see who's registered and not activated their account immediately. i can normally safely delete those accounts right away using the checkbox at the right of the row. i review the accounts who have activated and delete the obviously spam accounts too. takes me about 30 seconds a day to deal with all spam.

deleting a record with this script pulls their messages from the database too. normally it works pretty well, until i delete a real account from time to time. :-( (sorry guys)
