I've got a suburban block in need of maintenance.
Mowing (till I get rid of the lawn). Chook shed fixed up etc etc.

Probably needs about 2 hours per week work.

Can anyone suggest someone ?

maybe a notice at one of the community gardens? ceres in east brunswick is full of people who would probably love an extra bit of paid gardening.

Did you have any luck with this? I don't mind helping out for an hour or two, but I'm more in favour of community exchange sorts of things - what do you have to offer besides cash?
