Hi Murray,

I'm a new member to the forum. Saw your post, saw it's a bit old now, but if you're still interested, I write and publish books on home education and sell mostly through internet sales using Pay Pal and direct deposits. We're also making about US$100 per month through google adsense. We're about to work out a way to add advertising to our sites to increase our income without having to work off site. We're not financially viable yet: our aim is decrease our dependence on money while increasing our 'passive' income gradually. In truth, there's no such thing as passive income, it's all work - my aim is to make my past (unpaid) efforts pay better than they currently do...

cheers

what type of buissines do you run?
Are you afraid of damaging your eyes? (yes, you will)
or your back?Or you want to talk about the odds of an own buisiness?
I worked from home in Germany, many hours in front of the computer...

I'm a writer. I self-publish and have published writing by others. I manage several websites.

My eye sight is deteriorating. The optometrist says that it's the gradual decline that people of my age encounter. He's sure he won't see me again for another five years...

To help delay the gradual deterioration I have rearranged my working schedule to allow for a LOT more time away from the screen. Most days I spend only a couple of hours at my desk. Two days a week I spend about eight with a couple of long breaks, usually spent outside.

I use an LCD screen and find this much better than a regular monitor. Better for power consumption too.

Back issues are starting to become a problem but for general health reasons I have started a regular exercise routine which will help to strengthen the muscles. It's probably all the digging I've been doing in the garden lately...

What type of work do you do (for regular income?)

cheers
