Coming in just 6 months to start living on our few acres in Nimbin, and planning to install a greywater system.

I'm considering buying a couple of somewhat expensive books on the subject - could someone with experience tell me if it really requires books - or can it be worked out on the spot with a few pointers from others in the neighbourhood.

Hi, Peter!
Here is Alexander, from Brazil.
Well, i have a little experience about greywater systems, so I hope I can help you.
I think that you don't need expensive books, if you are planing simple sistems for treating just residential greywater, but I advice you a simple but very efective book: "Create an Oasis with greywater" from Art Ludwig. You can have full information about it in http://www.oasisdesign.net. I tested some systems from the book, and there are some real good ideas, very simple and eficient.
There are some good websites:
http://www.greywater.com
http://www.waterrecycling.com
http://www.hamburger-umweltinst.org/bio ... hmpge.html (http://www.hamburger-umweltinst.org/biomass/mnlwide/bnrhmpge.html)

Good luck!............................................A lexander!

Hi Alexander,
Thanks for your suggestions and the websites. I've had a quick look at them - too busy for more right now - and the first one seems particularly informative on building a greywater system. I will also look out for the Greywater Oasis book.
Cheers
Peter
