Hi

I'm new to worm farming and befor I start one would like to know, if I have 2 LBs of reds and they have the right conditions and say they eat half there body weight each day for a week.

How much worm tea would I have to collect at the end of the week ? Taking in account that all my worms are settled and happy

If they ate a pound of food a day for 7 days being 7 pounds, would it be fair to assume that 10% or 700 mills would be worm tea ?

If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks :) [/b]

Wiggely,

Maybe I have this wrong but I always assumed 'worm tea' was excess moisture that made it through the bed.

If I ever wanted 'worm tea' I just overwatered one end of the worm bed, so as not to drown worms or provoke mass escape. I collected that and used it as a foliar spray. Sometimes I just put a double handful of castings etc into a bucket, stirred it well, left it to settle and used that in the watering can.

:D Thank you Floot for the information.

I have heard that worm tea is worm pee (don't mean to be a poet) and what they eat is 50% water.

I guess I should build a test farm from some old brocoli boxes and see how it goes. :)
