hi everyone ,this looks like the place ive been looking for.i recently finished reading a book called owner built homestead by kern 1977 . its kind of permacultureistic but the diagram and text on page 142 doesnt seem to work. the dimensions and time frame presented with the diagram all sound good but it has turned into a math curse that i cant solve. the deferred and rotated crops idea i get but not the math.the widths of the row and sod crops cant advace only 4 feet per year and get around all paddocks within 6 years. has anybody tried this setup in Australia or read this book and not been as cornfused as i am .any help would be appreciated i need some sleep. my overgrazed and degraded land in n.e. vic is begging for a system like this. ive got plenty of time to do it right, but only once . thanks

I have seen something like this on, I think, Landline years ago. It was a Biodynamic based system and showed you can use the system in dryland farming areas as well as the wetter areas. Do a search in the ABC Landline archives - it might be in there. Or do a search on Google and see what you find.
