cheers all.

you'd think moving to a p/t job would give me more time for this sort of thing...but i am enjoying considerably reduce computer time. thought i'd share a couple of things...

i'm growing a bit despondant about farmer's markets...here in central victoria they have taken off - with 3 within 30min drive of us on different weekends. howveer, they seem to be represent the more boutique touristy market, rather than being a true farmers market - i suppose this is due to the nature of farms in 'alternative growth areas'...they are not traditional agricultural pursuits providing food, but are all about value adding and marketing to people who can afford $20 for 10ml of lavander oil, or $12 for 300g of goat's cheese...

perhaps i was spoilt growing up near St Andrews market in Victoria...and i must admit there is a fine market every Saturday in Castlemaine...

does anyone else have any more 'permaculturally focussed' trade/barter markets where they live?

oh. and in terms of permaculture being about 'permanent culture'...have spent this year become aqainted with a bunch of men who have formed a male choir...it is a fine example of men of all ages and social situations coming together to share lives and stories and have a sing and a cuppa. as a young men it has been a great mentoring experience for me and recommend such sustaining community activities as this to others - in many ways your local community house or food co-op is the hub of your local communities permaculture system.
