Hey,

I am a current student studying Art Practical at school. For this, I have to complete an Investigative Assignment and I chose the topic of Art in the Garden.

My mum has also practised Permaculture design principals in our gardens nad has given me alot of information. Unfortunately though, I do not have long to complete this assignment and need much more information on the relationship, if any, between art and Permaculture design.

If anyone knows something on this topic, or any good websites that could help me find information, you help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi Jewlz,

For a start, you might want to read the Wiki definitions of art and perhaps that will stimulate some ideas on how you would like to approach the concept you've chosen:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art

I am especially referring to the sentence
However, in the modern use of the word, which rose to prominence after 1750, “art” is commonly understood to be skill used to produce an aesthetic result (Hatcher, 1999).

This speaks directly to the skills necessary to make observations, gather information, plan, execute, and maintain the system of systems within a permaculture site. The overall execution of the entire permaculture concept at any given site can be an aesthetic result (at least to me! :D )

Hi Jewlz

I'm a professional graphic designer by trade and in my spare time I have drawn up the plans and designs for my orchard, i'm not sure if this is what your thinking about.

This is the latest version of the orchard design, I have a few more trees to add to this design but it should give you a bit of a design overview of the gardens. This plan will get more and more complex as I add more and add details like fruiting dates etc.

This is an overview of the whole place.

They are both flash files, you can right click and zoom right in and drag the map around with the little hand.
