We have just bought a property in the country with solarhart heating. The unit is about 8 years old. What preventitive maintenance should I being doing or look for to ensure we prolong the life of the unit, or do we have to use qualified tradesman to check it out for serviceability. It appears to provide plenty of hot water.
Any info would be great
Cheers

G'day,
We have 2 x 180 litre solarhart units on our townhouses here in Bendigo. They require 5 year servicing according to Solarhart. Qualified plumbers do the servicing, as is required by law for any reticulated systems. We have just had these units serviced and they work great. For only 3 months of the year do I have to turn on the natural gas boosters. I think this also relates to the capacity as much as anything as it takes less sun hours to heat up 180 litres than it does 300+ litres of a lot of systems. On our new rural property we will go with this size as well, only it will be a solar/slow combustion set up.
Ciao,
Darren Doherty
