Forgive me if this has been asked before but what is one entitled to do with a Permaculture Design Certificate, or more specifically, would one be able to do the following:

-hold small scale workshops using the term "Permaculture" as an advertising tool?
-call oneself a "certified Permaculturist"?

I would like to take a PDC course not only to enrich my own life but to perhaps incorporate more educational opportunities in to the workshops I already plan to offer (earthen plasters & other natural finishes).

Insight and/or recommended on-line reading appreciated.

Thanks,
Arby

Permaculture teacher accreditation is in the midst of major changes. I spoke to Robin Clayfield the other night (she is a well known teacher of permaculture teachers) and she said the new format is about to be offered. It will involve a course run over several days and follow up 'homework' over a few months - this is in addition to a PDC.

Janet Millington was also involved in these major changes, and she is offering a PDC in Oct at Eumundi in Qld which I will be attending. Will find out more then about the new accreditation and becoming a permaculture teacher.

So not sure how the new accreditation affects the use of the word permaculture in advertising of courses.

Cheers,
Sonya.

Thanks Sonya. Question though. Who is the governing authority on accreditation? And, it is universal worldwide?

There are Permaculture Institutes set up around the world who are authorised to issue certificates. Bill and Lisa do the Australian thing, it is in Tassie:
