Something peculiar happened all day yesterday in fact... the sky was black, and this filmy, damp, wet stuff was everywhere... it lay around on the ground and made my feet cold...

I asked someone what it was and they explained how, a long long long time ago the earth used to be kissed by a magic called “rain”.... and slowly I remembered I too had once experienced this strange thing.... “rain”.....
The TV weathermen and the radio shock jock each reassured me that this wretched “rain” would soon go away... we'd be enjoying bright skies real soon..... rain, they let me to understand, was a damn inconvenience for people.... but when I looked in my garden I thought I heard my plants singing... I was told it was the first time it had rained for a full day since July last year, but despite its rarity, this thing called rain, was still a damn wretched nuisance..... and something to be wished away as quickly as possible...

crazy world we live in isnt it? such a wonderful and glorious thing as rain is condemned as an inconvenience because it makes your hair go frizzy, or your feet might get wet. such trivial matters in the scheme of life but they take so much more precedence over the big things like our water and food supply. i bet your plants were singing! if i had any plants in the garden at the moment (other than weeds that is) they would have been singing when we had overnight rain here about a week ago.

Yes it gets my goat going when the weather men on the commercial stations
get all excited when they say its been or going to be a perfectly gorgeious day(sunny) then next day appologise to everyone that its going to rain....

At least the new guy on the west ABC weather apologises allmost wiping his tears as he says"sorry no rain untill next week"

Funny how the commercials seem to compete on how hot, wet, dry, windy calm, its going to be allmost as if they promise rain will actually improve their ratings......

Bring back the rain all is forgiven
