Places to visit/stay between Brissy & Newcastle

Late next week we are undertaking a drive to Newcastle for a relatives wedding. We thought to stop over somewere on the way down, and then after the wedding is over on Saturday do something of interest. We thought this would be a perfect oppurtunity for some permaculture inspiration, so that on return from our journey we would be fired up to finish our strawbale house and continue with the pc gardens.
Does anyone have suggestions for sources of inspiration, maybe places to stay between Brisbane & Newcastle?

You should be able to find a few PC gardens to visit. They may not be direct for you though and require a couple of detours.

Djanbung gardens have a website: http://www.earthwise.org.au/farmstay.html

They have accommodation and is near Nimbin. Seed Savers have a small permaculture garden at Byron Bay. You can also try the owners of this forum. They have a place at The Channon (not sure where in NSW that is though) there are photos on this site re: their strawbale buildings.

Try a search on the net, I havent visited all of these places yet!(i hope to one day), mine have mainly been on the Sunshine Coast north of Brissie.

Nice place to stay, but there are many other places in Byron Bay that offer the best accommodation.
