We have a need

Dear Permaculture People

We want to start a Permaculture Picture Show, following the model set by our friends in East London.

On Friday evenings they show permaculture films, and the local community cafe provides soup for everyone.

In order to do this in the Inner West (Leichhardt) we need a laptop that functions.
We also need a projector.

If anyone has a spare laptop or projector we'd love to hear from you.

Heather have you tried approaching a local school or university? They may have a venue that you can use to hold the meetings and will have a data projector and computer that you can use.

Here on the Coast we have "Movies that Matter" which is held at the Sunshine Coast Uni. I don't know if they are charged for the use of the facility but they organiser charge a door fee of about $5 which could well cover the cost and possibly even generate an income.

In fact we have a venue which charges us $2 a year and then gives us a community garden.
We cannot complain.
It's just that when we need to show films or to have a special lecture we don't have any equipment.
I teach at a university but there would be no hope at all of getting a room there or using the equipment.
Things are very tightly controlled here in Sydney.
